Because we are a non-profit independent school, we receive no federal, state, or local funding. Therefore, we rely on our Annual Fund, year-round fundraisers, and volunteers to keep our tuition low and continue the tradition of delivering high-quality, individualized instruction to everyone in the community, regardless of financial need.
From cash gifts to in-kind donations to the gift of time, it’s easy to find a way to contribute.
ANNUAL FUND
The Montessori School of Ojai’s Annual Fund allows the school to offer financial aid to students in need; train and retain qualified Montessori instructors; and enhance and maintain our beautiful 10-acre campus. Every donation counts, and we welcome every MSO family to join its teachers and staff in giving any amount possible to the Annual Fund. Here are some easy ways to contribute to our Annual Fund:
Donate online
Simply click this link to set up your one-time or recurring gifts.
Matching Gifts
Many corporations offer matching gifts to their employees. Contact your HR department to see if your company offers matching gifts, and watch your donation double (or triple!).
Box Tops for Education
Box Tops for Education can be earned digitally by scanning your receipt, using the Box Tops mobile app. Scan your store receipts, find participating products, and instantly add Box Tops to our school’s earnings online.
Donate Stock
Through a partnership with Morgan Stanley, MSO can receive gifts of highly appreciated stock.
Donors receive a tax deduction based on the value of the stock at the time of donation
By donating stock in-kind, donors also avoid paying capital gains taxes
As a non-profit, MSO can sell the stock and avoid paying taxes on any gain
Retirement Assets
Donations of IRA Required Minimum Distributions are another great way to give. Donors avoid paying any taxation on the distribution.

Fundraising Events
Attend the annual Harvest Moon event each October.
Support our students during the annual Sportathon each spring.
This year’s event is scheduled for Wednesday, March 4th. Our goal is to raise $11,000 to repair our yurt and transform it into a usable space year-round. Click here to learn more about our favorite FUNdraiser of the year!

Volunteer
One of the most important ways we keep our tuition and fees low is through the generosity of our volunteers. If you have the time to spare, we would love to have your help!
